Meet the Team: Q&A with Ben Sellers

As an established company with ambitious plans for growth, a big focus for Fexco Property Services (FPS) in 2023 is recruitment and retention of fantastic people who bring their skills to the FPS team, and benefit from the company’s ethos and values.
If you’re considering a new role, as the largest service provider in the sector, FPS is a company you should consider - but don’t take our word for it! We took the opportunity to catch up with Head of Marketing, Ben Sellers, who joined the company last year, to hear about his experience so far working at Fexco Property Services.
How would you describe the company culture?
We may be spread out nationally, but I feel really connected with my colleagues. For example, we run a large company event once a year at the end of summer, and it’s about coming together professionally, as well as enjoying some down time, and it’s always great fun meeting and catching up face to face with other staff members!
Culturally, it is probably one of the best of any company I have experienced. Everybody is really friendly and open which helped me when I first started 12 months ago. I don’t think there is anyone that wouldn’t go out of their way to help another colleague.
Occasionally, we have the common challenges of communication, resource and ‘growing pains’ as the company expands, but ultimately everyone wants the same thing and it’s a positive environment. We recently launched a new internal staff intranet, which so far has been well received by colleagues and will go some way to help solve communication challenges.
What are the benefits of working within the Group?
There are a number of benefits to working within the Group, including competitive salaries and a generous amount of annual leave entitlement, which includes a day off for your birthday and an extra day’s leave over the Christmas period.
Additionally, I’ve found FPS has a great approach to hybrid working, where possible. I have an 18 month old daughter so flexible working is really important to me for work-life balance, and this has been incredibly valuable for family life.
FPS is also keen on the development of its staff and offers training and support with qualifications. We have a brilliant internal Social Committee that organises and manages company events, social clubs, fundraising and charity days, which ensures the whole team feels part of a community as well as a work place.
