Modern slavery statement

(as applicable for 2019 and future reporting periods unless modified)

The Fexco Property Services group (“FPS”) which incorporates all operating subsidiaries and brands, has over 35 years of experience as a full-service residential property management group.

The individual subsidiaries and brands are not required to have their own modern slavery statements as they do not meet the threshold individually, however, as a group we are committed to undertaking business ethically and constantly working towards establishing zero tolerance towards modern slavery and human trafficking in any form. This statement is published in compliance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (“the Act”).

ABOUT FPS
The FPS group operates solely in England and Wales and looks after more than 55,000 homes on behalf of its customers and clients. Our principle services provide the day to day management and upkeep of the common parts of residential properties. Full details of our business structure and service offerings can be found on our website at www.fexcopropertyservices.co.uk.

FPS is backed by the multi-national Fexco group, who have been involved in block management since 1999, successfully growing the largest residential management group in Australia; Prudential Investment Company of Australia Pty Limited (“PICA”) who currently have 280,000 homes under their management. Established over 50 years ago, PICA is an Australian national property services company that remains one of the most reputable and financially stable companies in Australia. The Fexco group is now bringing this wealth of expertise and knowledge to the UK market.

We employ mostly professionally qualified people and develop our teams to achieve professional qualifications in their field via our fully appointed HR department. A complete induction process applies to all new employees, including an introduction to our 4 values, which form the basis of how we work, connect and communicate with each other, customers and clients, these are:

  • Professional
  • Progressive
  • Teamwork
  • Reliable

ABOUT OUR SUPPLY CHAIN
The chief area of risk for FPS is the subcontracting of minor and major works to up to 1,500 contractors nationwide, however, we are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of the FPS supply chain (which includes business partners, suppliers, sub-contractors and other third parties who provide or deliver any goods or services to FPS).

In order to better identify and manage such risks, we operate a centralised procurement system which is currently in the process of being refreshed to reduce the number of contractors that we utilise as well as the standards adhered to, in order to provide tighter control. Our procurement strategy focuses on working with suppliers that are compliant with Health and Safety regulations and corporate governance standards and is largely managed by our Health & Safety department which operates from our head office. Having a standalone team dedicated to procurement and working remotely from our operating teams that appoint contractors gives us stronger, independent assurance that any conflicts or risks are identified and acted upon.

OUR CONTINUED COMMITMENT
A rigorous approval system combined with independent assurance means that our business and supply chain risk is always appropriately managed. We will not continue to consider or work with any contractors or suppliers who do not fit with our business profile. We recognise the importance of maintaining constant vigilance in order to identify and address any issues associated with slavery and human trafficking in our organisation and throughout our supply chains. By providing guidance and training to our operational teams  we maintain zero tolerance to any suppliers who are identified as being in breach of the Act and therefore do not meet our ethical standards of operation.
